There were many names that people used to call the divine in the Old Testament of the Bible and yet Jesus called God one thing: FATHER.
In this short Fathers' Day message, Anth reminds us that the divine creator has always been a reluctant god and instead has always wanted to be "Our Father", so that we might know who we are and whose we are. This is important in our daily lives, because as Anth says:
"When we know who we are, we know what to do!"
Anth notes that the story of Jesus' baptism in Matthew 3 is a beautiful demonstration of fatherhood. As Jesus is being baptised, a voice from heaven said "This is my son, whom I love, I am well pleased with him!" Anth notes that this wasn't a divine reward or a heavenly congratulations for Jesus' miracles, ministry and messages... he hadn't done any of that yet! Instead, God calls us his children that he loves and is pleased with, JUST AS WE ARE.
Whatever your experience of a Dad is, let Anth show you the privilege of being a child of "Our Father..."
